Jack Shephard Does Something Amazing

On Sunday 1st June I entered the Sheffield performance centre Badminton Tournament. I partnered up with Sam Smith in the men’s doubles tournament. I was the only player with a disability in the tournament. In the doubles Sam and myself managed to get through to the finals by being the top of our group.

In the semi finals we manged to win through a very close games which went to three sets. Putting us through to the finals. In the finals we had another tough game against two doubles specialists in an established pairing. We lost the first set but battled back to win with a third set having to go to two clear points to decide on a winner.

We were very happy to have won the tournament especially against such good competition.

Jack is also taking part in coaching courses this week for his Level 1 Basketball and Level 1 Football coach awards. Following in the footsteps of many DSA members previously who have taken their coaching awards. He hopes to complete a Badminton Level 1 coaching award later in the year.

What are you doing that is amazing?
