Today the Paris 2024 Paralympic Medal Events Programme and Athlete Quotas have been announced.
The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games will include a record 235 medal events for women, eight more than at Tokyo 2020. The highlight being the addition of the female SH6 ParaBadminton.
After successful Paralympic debuts this summer, Para badminton will have 16 medal events, two more than at Tokyo 2020, including SH6 Female Singles and Mixed Doubles SH6.
This is GREAT NEWS and very exciting for our DSA members as it opens up the sport to more players and also increases the medal events from one to three for people with dwarfism.
Also announced today was the Athletics event programme with Female Shot and Discus for F40/F41 class and Javelin and Shot for Men in the F41/F40 class.
Medal events for Powerlifting and Swimming are unchanged from Tokyo and still have classes for dwarf athletes to take part.
