DSAuk become a member of the British Paralympic Association.

The Dwarf Sports Association UK (DSAuk) have been invited to become a full voting member of the British Paralympic Association (BPA) at the BPA's annual general meeting on the 20th November 2019. The Dwarf Sports Association are happy to accept that invitation and are now a member of the National Paralympic Committee.

The DSAuk are delighted to have been asked to join the National Paralympic Committee and look forward to helping the BPA in seeking success at the next Paralympic Games in Tokyo and into the future.

The DSAuk have helped to start the sporting career of many Paralympic medallists in the past including Matthew Whorwood, Zoe Newson and of course Ellie Simmonds OBE. We look forward to seeing DSAuk members competing in the new Paralympic sport of Parabadminton in Tokyo and hope our Swimmers, Field Athletes and Powerlifters have success in 2020 as they have in many Paralympic events before.

Mike Sharrock, Chief Executive of the British Paralympic Association, said: “I am delighted to welcome the newest member to the British Paralympic Association family. Short stature athletes have played an integral role in the success of ParalympicsGB and captured the imagination of the British public. “We look forward to working closely with DSAuk and the wider membership as we build toward Tokyo 2020 and to help us deliver our vision: through sport, to inspire a better world for disabled people.”

President and Founder of the DSAuk Arthur Dean OBE said "As President of the Dwarf Sports Association I am thrilled that the DSAuk has been given the fantastic opportunity to become a member of the British Paralympic Association along with representatives of the other National Disability Sporting Organisations . DSAuk is an Amazing, Unique Grass Roots Sporting Association which changes lives of people with dwarfism, giving those people fantastic opportunities to participate in sport on a level playing field, as well as progressing through to Paralympic Competition and other opportunities that may arise in the world of disability sport.

Together we can make a difference."
