Members of the Dwarf Sports Association UK (DSAuk) enjoyed an action-packed Saturday during an exciting badminton tournament at the Sheffield English Institute of Sport (EIS). The event kicked of 2025’s National Event calendar, echoing the ability-based format introduced in 2023.
The day kicked off with a focused half-hour session of half-court singles. This element is designed to assess participants’ skill levels, allowing the coaches to form fair and competitive groupings. It set the tone for a high-energy and inclusive tournament, where everyone had a chance to shine.
Throughout the morning, players took part in singles matches, showing off their talent and determination. The intensity and skill on display demonstrated just how far many of the participants have progressed, both competitively and personally.
After a lunch break, the format shifted in the afternoon to feature doubles matches. This change brought a new layer of excitement and teamwork, with players paired up to take on fresh challenges together.
Participants and organisers alike praised the tournament for its engaging structure and inclusive spirit. The event stood as a shining example of DSAuk’s commitment to providing meaningful and competitive sports opportunities for individuals with dwarfism conditions. Next up for DSAuk is the highly anticipated National Games, taking place at the end of May — a weekend set to bring even more excitement, competition, and community spirit.
