The 33rd National Games welcomed 205 athletes from across the United Kingdom alongside international competitors from Ghana, Germany, and the Netherlands for a memorable weekend celebrating sport, achievement, and community.

Athletes with dwarfism competed across a wide range of sports including powerlifting, athletics, swimming, cycling, shooting, team sports, and new age curling, showcasing talent, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the event.

While competition was at the heart of the Games, the weekend was about much more than medals and results. The National Games provided an opportunity for athletes, families, volunteers, and supporters to come together, build lasting connections, and compete with pride in an inclusive and supportive environment.

The event also welcomed a number of first-time competitors, bringing fresh energy and excitement to the Games while highlighting the continued growth of opportunities for athletes with dwarfism in sport.

A huge thank you goes to the incredible team of volunteers whose hard work helped make the 33rd National Games such a success. The organisation expressed its gratitude to the officials, umpires, photographers, physiotherapists, merchandise/ raffle team, medals team, results team, runners, and everyone working behind the scenes throughout the weekend.

“Your dedication and support are what make this event possible year after year,” organisers said.

The Games once again demonstrated the importance of inclusive sport and the value of creating opportunities for athletes with dwarfism to compete, connect, and celebrate their abilities on both a national and international stage.
