Over the weekend, the DSAuk North East region held a “Come and Try” ice skating session in Sheffield, giving families the chance to enjoy ice time in a fun and inclusive environment. The event was delivered in partnership with British Ice Skating and their Lets Skate initiative.

Leah, the North East Regional Coordinator, said:
“It was incredible, everyone was made to feel welcome and the team went over and above for us. Everyone who came wants to do it again!”

Dan from British Ice Skating also highlighted the importance of the initiative:
“Brilliant to see new people enjoying the thrill of our sport in a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment. We are working to provide more inclusive pathways at British Ice Skating to ensure everyone and anyone has a future in ice skating.”

The taster event underlined DSAuk’s commitment to creating accessible sporting experiences and fostering a sense of community, while inspiring more people to get on the ice.
