14 supporters of the Dwarf Sports Association UK all put on their cycling gear and headed to Mickleover Cycle Path in Derbyshire to raise money for the Charity.

The event organised by East Midlands Regional Coordinator, Willie Coppen and wife Denise took place on Saturday 25th June. Members, DSAuk friends and families all gathered in Mickleover at the starting point at around 10:30am for an 11 o’clock start.

The sun was shining for the riders and as they all geared up organiser Willie went through some of the safety aspects of the ride. Then off they went for the first part of their journey which was a five mile cycle from Mickleover to Eggington Junction. Everybody did tremendously well, especially some of the younger riders including Harry, Sid and Gabby. All whom are members of the association and regular attendees at regional and national events.

After around 40 minutes all riders made it to the half way point at Eggington Junction which was situated under a bridge. After a quick stop for a drink and snack they headed back on another 5 mile ride back to the starting point. The riders completed the 10 mile ride in an amazing 1 hour 30 minutes including a quick break. On return to the start point riders celebrated their success with some well earned lunch at the Great Northern Pub and Restaurant.

Regional Development Officer, Tom Mills said: “The team spirit, support and encouragement all the way was #DSAmazing, it was an amazing achievement, well-done everyone your efforts are greatly appreciated by all of us at the DSAuk.”

It was  massive team effort with the team being rewarded with over £1,900 being raised for the DSAuk with money still being donated. If you can help the team reach their £2,000 target please hit the link below.
