2014 National Dwarf Games
185 athletes with a genetic dwarfism or restricted growth condition made their way from all four corners of the UK to Birmingham and Wolverhampton for three days of sport over the May day bank holiday weekend.
The Dwarf Sports Association UK National Games was the biggest ever with athletes from all four home countries plus Canada, France, Germany, Sri Lanka, Denmark, Spain and Ireland.Read More

The SW region has concentrated on fundraising over the last few months in order to subsidise a few events throughout Spring & Summer 2013. On Saturday 17 th November Asda of Yeovil invited us to carry out an Awareness Event by talking to customers & handing out leaflets. Calling young disabled people to join in the sporting fun. In May, the English Federation of Disability Sport will deliver three days of sporting fun for young disabled people at the home of Paralympic sport- Stoke Mandeville Stadium. The Festival of Sport is being held on 10-12 May 2013 and is for 6 to 16 year olds with all impairments to try a range of sports. Supported by Everyone Active, the event is free for participants to take part.Read More

DSA Swimmers excel at Junior Championships
It was a fantastic weekend of swimming for the competitors at the Nationwide Junior and Youth Swimming Championships.
The event welcomed over 200 swimmers from across the country, where one world record, one European record and eight British records were broken – all records are dependent on ratification.

Adam Alderman's Powerlifting season so far
After recovering from a broken wrist last year Adam Alderman has had to work hard to recover his form for the 2011 /12 Powerlifting season. At an estimate it set him back about 8 months. However, he competed in Holland in October 2011 and lifted 128 kg.Read More

The Dwarf Sports Association uk are proud to announce their patron Eleanor Simmonds M.B.E has been shortlisted in the final three for this years BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year 2011.

During late January two dwarf field athletes from the UK,travelled to New Zealand as part of the UK team competing at the IPC World Athletics Championships.

Ellie Simmonds will be the face of Sainsbury's Active Kids Campaign
Double Paralympic swimming champion Ellie Simmonds has been unveiled as the new face of a scheme to get more children involved in sport launched by Sainsbury's, a Tier One London 2012 sponsor of the Paralympics.
The 15-year-old from Walsall will feature in an advertising campaign leading up to London 2012 for "Sainsbury's Active Kids", which is now in its sixth year and has so far raised over £86 million ($134 million) which has been used to purchase new sports equipment aimed at encouraging children to take part in a healthy, active lifestyle.Read More

DSA Patrons triumph at IPC World Championships
Double Paralympic Champion Eleanor Simmonds gave the British Disability Swimming Team the perfect start to competition by knocking four seconds off her world record in the S6 400m Freestyle.
The World Championships kicked off with the S6 men’s and women’s 400m Freestyle. DSA patron Matt Whorwood got the Brits off to silver in the first race and the night just got better for the team as they took a total of ten medals.

Zoe Newson excels at IWAS World Championships in India
Zoe Newson went to the IWAS World Games held in Bangalore, India as part of the GB team. There were 43 countries taking part in 11 sports and as part of the Powerlifting she took to the stage in Koramangala Indoor Stadium.
She weighed in at 38.6kg and managed to successfully lift 80kg a new personal best in spite of the searing heat, despite being comfortable in the gym lifting 82.5kg this was simply too much on this occasion because of the heat.Read More

Final day of the European Swimming Championships
Eleanor Simmonds claimed her fourth European title in the women’s S6 100m Freestyle after beating team-mate Natalie Jones to the wall. Paralympic Champion Simmonds put in an excellent performance and looked strong throughout the race. She touched the wall in a time of 1:17.57 and after the race she said:
“I am really happy to have won that because every time I get in to race I want to win. It is so great to have won that. I have moved on from Beijing because I have come here and won four gold medals instead of the two.”Read More

The GB Disability Swimming team, featuring many Paralympians, competing at the IPC Swimming European Championships in Reykjavik enjoyed success on day one of competition. Double Paralympic bronze medalist Matt Whorwood won bronze in the men’s S6 400m Freestyle after putting in a strong performance to lower the British record through the race. F40 Field Athletes achieve PB's in Beijing
DAA and GB team throwers Kim Minett and Sophie Hancock threw over the weekend and on Monday morning in the Birds Nest Stadium in Beijing.
They both did well against increasingly stiff competition in the F40 class.
Sophie threw Discus on Saturday and came in 5th place, she threw a personal best of 21.53, the Gold going to the Chinese with a new World Record.Read More
